Dominican Bachata vs. Sensual Bachata — Why It Matters

Most bachata taught outside the Dominican Republic is bachata sensual — a modern style developed in Europe, characterized by body waves, dips, and theatrical moves. It's a valid style, but it's not what people dance at a colmado in Cabarete.

Bachata Escape teaches Dominican bachata exclusively — the original style from the barrio. Fluid hip movement, strong musicality, authentic partner connection. Where Is Cabarete?

Cabarete is a vibrant beach town on the North Coast of the Dominican Republic, between Puerto Plata and Sosúa. It is internationally known as the kitesurf capital of the Caribbean, but it is also home to one of the most authentic Dominican music and dance scenes in the country. Your included round-trip group transfer is arranged from Las Américas International Airport (SDQ) in Santo Domingo, where most international flights land.
