Discover the roots of each dance, and for bachata, that means the Dominican Republic. Bachata Escape offers you the unique chance to master traditional bachata right in its birthplace, immersing yourself in the vibrant Caribbean rhythms and experiencing the essence of the dance. With guidance from expert Dominican and international instructors, you'll be introduced step by step to the world of Dominican bachata. Almost each day includes 90 min of dance classes, alongside additional sessions on musicality, rhythm, body movement, and the history of bachata, as well as related styles like merengue, bolero.

All rooms are double occupancy by default. However, if you prefer a single room, there is an additional charge of €300. Please note, single rooms are limited, and we operate on a first-come, first-served basis. If all single rooms are booked, we can add you to a waiting list.

We will be offering minimum 15 hours of classes, guided by our instructors, who will accompany you every step of the way throughout the learning process. Additionally, we will have the participation of other local talents who will bring their unique experience and style, further enriching your training in authentic bachata. Which airport will I be picked up from and dropped off at?We will pick you up and drop you off at Santo Domingo Airport (SDQ). If you choose to fly to a different airport, we can arrange transportation for you at an additional cost.

Where will I be staying?We will be in Cabarete (Puerto Plata) and also a few days in Las Terrenas (Samaná). In both cities we have private accommodations with plenty of space to dance, relax and socialize.

What is included?The accommodation for the duration of the trip, at least 15h Bachata classes, breakfast, planned excursions and leisure activities according to the itinerary, transportation during the trip.

What is not included?Inbound & outbound flight to the Dominican Republic, travel insurance, meals not listed and additional activities.

Do I need to have experience in Bachata?In order to enjoy all the workshops, we recommend that you have a basic knowledge of Bachata Dominicana. If you are not sure, just contact us and we will be happy to advise you.

Do I need to bring a dance partner?No, it is not necessary to bring a dance partner. We make sure that there are enough dance partners and change regularly during the workshops.

How big is the group?The group will probably consist of 10 participants to ensure a personal atmosphere.

Which languages are spoken on the trip?We and our team speak German, English and Spanish.

Will I have free time?Absolutely. We want you to relax as much as possible. Therefore, participation in the program we have planned is voluntary. However, we have planned enough free time so that you can also pursue activities other than dancing.

Can I stay longer than the planned travel time?Of course. You are welcome to extend your stay and stay longer on your own. We will be happy to help you with tips.

How safe is the Dominican Republic?The Dominican Republic is generally a safe destination, especially in tourist areas. However, as in many other countries, it is advisable to take some precautions to minimize potential risks. These include: * Keeping valuables safe in the hotel and not displaying them openly. * Staying in well-lit and busy areas at night. * Listen to your gut feeling ☺️

How expensive is a meal in a restaurant?Prices for food in restaurants can vary greatly depending on the location and type of restaurant. In simpler local restaurants (“comedores”) you can often get a meal for the equivalent of 5 to 10 euros. In tourist restaurants or upscale eateries, prices are usually higher, between 10 and 25 euros per person. Overall, however, the food is often cheaper compared to European standards.

Are there any dangerous animals?There are no particularly dangerous animals in the Dominican Republic that pose a serious threat. In the coastal regions and on excursions into nature, you may occasionally come across smaller animals such as lizards or harmless insects. However, it is always advisable to use the usual insect repellent, especially in tropical areas. Insects such as cockroaches are quite normal in tropical regions, nothing to worry about and can be found even in the cleanest accommodation.
